Daniel Clarke is the keyboardist for Ryan Adams & The Shining and recorded these tracks in his Richmond, Virginia home playing every instrument himself. Adams describes these tracks as "like an R&B world inside a television playing a dream inside your feverish mind."
Adams' involvement with the single is unusually small, Clarke having done the recording himself. Adams has done the photography for the cover.
