Where’s that guy that was gonna play with us tonight? Hey, Ryan Adams!” With his Gibson SG in hand, Adams took to the stage and pounded out thunderous riffs and sang backup vocals with the rest of the band. The energy really took off when Mould called out Ryan Adams to join the band on stage and proceeded to play Hüsker Dü songs “Something I learned Today”, “I Apologize”, and “Celebrated Summer”. [full review here]Rock N.Y.C.Actually the entire second part of the show was all Hüsker Dü, and although it was not really necessarily to bring the sonic level up, he nevertheless asked his friend Ryan Adams to come on stage. At this point, the songs became one big loud roaring pedal, Adams pushing the punk note higher and wilder, and these four were having the time of their lives on stage, while Mould was singing lines like, ‘Getting drunk out on the beach, or playing in a band/ And getting out of school meant getting out of hand’.
