Ryan Adams continued his tour last night at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, WI with a setlist that saw increased variety along with several tour debuts. For starters, Adams busted out the Whiskeytown song “Yesterday’s News” from the band’s 1997 effort Stranger’s Almanac. This is the first bit of Whiskeytown material played by the guitarist on his current tour. [full review here]

‘The Ballad of the Security Man’ was a slow rocker, full of impressive lyrics made up on the spot, like “He gotta walk the aisle the whole f—ing show / Talking ‘bout the security man / He gotta work all night with that yellow roller rink shirt on / S–t.” The song went on for nearly five minutes, much to the delight of the crowd. At the end, Adams said, “It was like every kind of music at one time, so really, nobody can complain.” [full review here]
